Churchill and the Glass Hippo

I am a Brisbane artist and my aim is to capture the spirit of the landscape, cityscape or figurative subject. I work with inks, watercolour, gouache and other media on paper and canvas.

In this 'still life', the old iron figure of Churchill is placed in company on my table with a glass hippo and a vase of flowers. Who knows why? Maybe there are distant connotations about attempting to make solid momentous decisions in a fluid world, past and present, but I'll leave that to the viewer.
