I was particularly interested in how colour relationships can convey feeling and movement within the composition. The free brushstrokes and use of bold colour layering, builds depth and invites the viewer to imagine beyond reality’s constructs of reality. Marks are deliberately visible, emphasising the act of painting itself and the physical nature of the medium. This painting encourages viewers to form their own emotional connections and interpretations.
