In Under the Sea the artist's palette of blues and warm complementary tones invites the viewer to imagine the vibrant North Queensland coast where she recently found inspiration. The flowing shapes and intricate patterns however also reflect the influence of the mosaics often seen in her hometown of Barcelona. This duality - drawing from both external landscapes and personal history - is a hallmark of her work.
Elisabeth's art is rooted in a desire to evoke, emotion and a sense of place. Her processes both intuitive and methodical, exploring how paint and canvas can be transformed into objects of beauty through careful reasoning and refined technique. Each piece is a journey of discovery, where colour and form are used to express her unique perspective on the world.
From the artist: "Abstract art allows me to relocate and refine the powerful relationship between what I see and how I feel about the subject, expressing it my way using colours that define what I perceive".
